Hi, I’m Vanessy Cortes, a freelance grant writer and nonprofit communicator based in Indianapolis. I help mission-driven organizations secure funding, tell their stories, and build real connections with donors and communities.

Why I Do This Work

This work is personal. When I worked at a family homeless shelter, I saw how powerful community is. People showed up. Resources were shared. It reminded me that real change happens when people come together and take action.

That’s why I’m drawn to nonprofits that are rooted in service, compassion, and impact… especially in:
